Donna Cunningham - Vocals

I am a native Ohioian from Scioto country. First sang in pubic in third grade for the PTA.  After that sang at many school things, little talent shows, etc.    At the age of 16 , I was singing in Portsmouth at an international policeman's convention, and for whatever reason there was a gentleman there from Nashville. He came to our house and talked to my parents, (I was an only child) offering me a chance to sign with Columbia Records...wanted us to come to Nashville, they said NO.

I met my husband in college, got married and started a family...Then at the age of 29, I was getting kind of bored, do my husband Gary encouraged me to become involved in Community Theatre.  After roles in the musicals Carousel, Hello Dolly, and South Pacific among others, my second child kept me at home for a while.    Except for a singing engagement at Archie Campbell’s place in Pigeon Forge, that was the extent of my singing career until my daughter graduated high school.

In 1999, I returned to singing with Doc Roc and The Remedies, an oldies roc and roll review band.  After some time, some people with the Portsmouth American Legion asked me about forming my own band and thus, DC Fever was born.  We garnered quite a following in the area and I began to branch out to local Opry houses.   At Southern Opry House, I earned the title of First Lady of the Opry and later became a member of their Wall Of Fame.   Scott King of King Productions heard me sing at The Southern Ohio Opry and asked me to join the new Saturday Night Jamboree Band based in Huntington, W. Va. doing only traditional country music. We do a few shows a year and its lots of fun.  Through my relationship with SNJ I also do occasional shows with a little group called Stoneybrooke.

In 2003 I won first place in a country music talent contest at the Appalachian Museum in Ashland Ky.  I also have performed twice at Renfro Valley, Kentucky.  In 2005 I joined the North American Country Music Association International, an association dedicated to preserving and promoting country, bluegrass and gospel music.   Once a year each chapter has a contest sending their winners to the Nationals in Pigeon Fore, Tenn.   In 2005 I was first runner-up in Ohio.   In 2006 I won both Female Entertainer and female Vocalist of the year in Ohio and placed 2nd and 3rd at the Nationals in Pigeon Forge. This Year I again won the Ohio titles and won the overall national title of 2007 Female Entertainer of the Year in Traditional Country Music.

My Dad passed away in March of 2006 and my band broke up.  I didn't feel much like singing for a while. Then in the summer of 2007, I started looking for musicians again and luckily, one night Roger Russell sat in with me. Wow, I thought, he is so talented. Luckily, though Roger, I have come to be able to perform with the group we are now ...a new DCFever with John Howell, Gary Higginbotham, Tony Thomas, Roger Russell, and me.

John Howell - Drums and Vocals

"I think I've played just about every kind of setting over my 30+ years of drumming. I've had the good fortune of hitting areas as diverse as Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and of course the Tri-State area, and I've been on stage with some entertainment legends: Red Skelton, The Smothers Brothers, Paul Revere, Head East, and many others. I've covered every musical style you can imagine, and you'll hear several stylistic influences in the rhythm section of D.C. Fever. These guys really know their stuff, and you'll also notice how the songs sound just as they should - the way you remember them.

I've gone through many a drumset over the years, but for D.C. Fever I've brought out my very first drumkit: a 1965 Ludwig Classic "Ringo" style kit in original Black Diamond Pearl finish. The sound of those drums is a perfect complement to the music we're playing. Surrounding those drums are an array of Zildjian cymbals plus LP cowbells, jamblocks, and windchimes. "

Tony Thomas - Bass and Vocals

Gary Higginbotham - Keyboards and Vocals

Gary brings to the band a unique style based in seventies and eighties rock and popular music, and rhythm and blues.  In addition to keyboards, Gary plays acoustic guitar, bass, and sings background vocals.
